Rogue Planet looks like a stunner.

I was an addict once. My addiction (self diagnosed) wasn't to any drug or drink, no, it was to a game. A little GBA game I like to call Advanced Wars. And ever since I was addicted to said game I've always kept my ear to the ground for similar...experiences. A new such experience has been announced and, from what I can tell, it looks like all the makings to be a winner. I, of course, am referring to Agharta Studio's (makers of 1112) upcoming turned based tactic Rogue Planet.

Touch Arcade has an exclusive video preview that shows off just how impressive the game looks visually and how it's taking turned based tactics on the app store to the next level:

Based off of this one video alone Rogue Planet is definitely on the top of my "want now" list of games. Aside from local multiplayer over wifi upon the iPhone 3.0 OS release the title will feature multiplayer over bluetooth and push notification capabilites. The game is expected to be submitted by month's end.

defenderchronicles_icon.jpg Chillingo's Defender Chronicles: Legend of the Desert King ($2.99) has officially landed in the app store. Defender Chronicles is an RPG tower defense hybrid that plays from a 2D platform perspective rather than an isometric or birds eye view, the first tower defense game of its kind. While I have yet to go hands on with it myself the early buzz for the title is quite favorable. If you're able to spend some time with Defender Chronicles we'd love to hear what you think! Be sure and take a gander at the gameplay video below:

Ngmoco's Star Defense now available!

stardefenseicon2.jpg Ngmoco 's highly anticipated 3D tower defense game is now available in the app store for $5.99. What makes this tower defense game stand out from the rest has to do with how the the structure of the map. Most tower defense games feature a flat top-down perspecive featuring 2D graphics. Star Defense renders in full 3D and takes place on a miniature planet. You can imagine how playing on a sphere will effect gameplay.

Early buzz is that ngmoco delivers another satisfying, worth while iPhone game. A review of Star Defense is currently in the works. Those of you able to download it and play it before I do let us know what you think. Ngmoco's current offerings include such hits as Rolando , Topple and WordFu.
