Look, Astrosaurus has been "officially" around for a good two and a half days now. Not that long. I was completely unaware going into this thing that I would be talking about Lady Gaga on multiple occasions within the first 60 hours its existence. First here and now here. I find this turn of events very...unsettling. But that's neither here nor there. Back to business, shall we? Tapulous has unleashed Lady Gaga Revenge on the app store for a cool $4.99.

I find it fascinating just how much the music industry has been forced to change over my lifetime. Major media outlets have been heavily criticized for moving at a snails pace when it comes to embracing new formats and technologies. While that still may be the case, they're proving to be a bit more nimble than their former self. The success of music rhythm games and the pioneering of digital downloads through services like iTunes is the shot in the arm they've always needed. Titles like Guitar Hero and Rock Band have paved the way for music games to become a viable, profitable platform for record labels and artists. Now some of that success has made it's way to the iPhone.
Venture Beat reports that Tapulous, the folks behind the Tap Tap Revenge music rhythm games, have inked a deal with Universal Music Group to bring some of their extensive catalog to the series. Next up for the series will be a Lady Gaga branded title which comes courtesy of UMG (yes, you may squeal with glee). While licensing deals are extremely common in the gaming world it's just another testament to the success mobile gaming has had over the last year, particularly the iPhone.
Tapulous' latest release, Dave Matthews Band Revenge, hit the app store late last month. Head on over to Venture Beat for the full article.
