Adorable Violence: Two minutes of Minigore gameplay footage.

minigorepromo.jpg

I freaking LOVE the art style of this game! It's pretty damn adorable, no? Mountain Sheep, the developers behind the game, has got it "going on" I would say. Ever since I first laid eyes on it I immediately wanted to know more. Well I'm not sure how this one flew under the radar but a new gameplay video for Minigore was released last week and it makes me want to get my filthy paws on it even more:

Launching at 99¢ this is going to be a no brainer come launch day. Head on over to the official Minigore blog for more details on the game.

Remember that Portal for iPhone video? Oh yeah, it's real.

portallogo.jpg

Let's get this out of the way first: Yay!

You know that Portal for iPhone video that's been making its rounds? The one people didn't know if it were real or not? Well it turns out it is indeed actual gameplay video. Is it going to actually ever be released? I'm thinking Valve will want to protect their intellectual property and will have it pulled or will send out cease and desists before it even gets submitted.

Touch Arcade was fortunate enough to be sent a build of the game. The consensus? It's buggy and needs some work, but there's potential. Check out the video they've recorded of the opening level:

Controversy abound! School shooting game gets pulled from App Store.

zombieschool001.jpg

Wired has a nice summary of the events surrounding the pulling of a "school shooting" game that was recently released on the app store. Yes it takes place at a school and yes you are shooting classmates. But you're not just shooting any old classmates here! No, no, they're zombie classmates. The game in question is the appropriately named Zombie School.

Long story short it looks like Apple didn't catch the fact that some people might be offended by the games content before actually releasing the thing. Instead they opted to pull it after the fact, ya know, once people started raising a stink about it. Retarded Arts, the developer behind the title (and who is in need of serious help in the name creation department), tries to defend their case:

zombieschool002.jpgZombie school is not promoting school shooting, its rather promoting elimination of Zombies to protect the humans, just like any other Zombie Game. As we also stated in the Game Description that - "You (the game user) have the control over the Zombie shooting tower that your supporters have made you", who are your supporters the reader might wonder? The supporters are your human friends.

This is just another ZOMBIE GAME. We believe that a genuine mistake, by us, on a forum post in which the game was accidently related to school shooting has stirred all this controversy which we still are trying to digest. Zombies are not humans, according to the princeton dictionary , Zombie is a dead body that has been brought back to life by a supernatural force. There are so many Zombie games on the App Store, where the motive is to eliminated them. If, Zombies, are in a town like Zombievill USA and you kill them by shooting a bazooka at them, then why cant you kill a few in a school?

I'm actually pretty apathetic torwards both sides of the argument. It doesn't offend me in the slightest but I'm not surprised that certain types are wound up by it. Someone, somewhere will be offended by just about anything released. If anything it just goes to show when you release a game on the App Store you gotta play by Apple's rules.

Zombies vs. Sheep released for 99¢

zombiesvssheepicon.jpg Last week we wrote a little bit about Radiolaris' tap shooter Zombies vs. Sheep. Back then Zombies vs. Sheep was but a distant upcoming game depicting the undead/livestock rivarly we've all grown up hearing about. Over the weekend the game was let loose on the app store for a cool introductory price of .99¢. It's hard to tell if the momentum will keep up but it currently has a 5 star rating on iTunes, so far not too shabby, eh? See Zombies vs. Sheep in action for yourself:

Resident Evil 4 iPhone WILL be released worldwide, confirmed.

residentevil4promo.jpg

Well that's a happy ending, isn't it? An iPhone version of Resident Evil 4 was released on the Japanese App Store only to be mysteriously pulled down shortly after. Fear not! That was at least enough time for someone to grab it and record a pretty snazzy video for all of us to drool over.

It's been pretty dark since then and no one knew what was going to happen to the survivor horror classic...that is until the official Capcom Twitter account dropped some knowledge on us not too long ago:

One word: Niiiiiice.
