Business Week has compiled a list of 20 Apps that have been rejected by Apple. A handful of games made the list including the ever so classy Baby Shaker.
"The app allowed users to silence the cries of an imaginary infant by
shaking the phone until the baby appeared dead. Apple yanked the app in
April 2009 after severe criticism from child-care advocacy groups. The
app description read: "See how long you can endure his or her adorable
cries before you just have to find a way to quiet the baby down!"
Other apps include Obama Trampoline, Pocket God (one of the updates included a trademark violation) and Prohibition 2: The Dope Wars among others. Take a look at the list to see what sick filth Apple has been protecting us from!
I love the reason for the generous drop in price,"Free for less than a day, because someone from outside the US really wants the game." Someone go give this guy a hug! And thank you anonymous foreigner for somehow swindling yourself a free copy of the game and allowing us all to benefit.
You are the elite space mercenary "Space Ninja". You have been tasked
to deliver a certain object to Jupiter, but mysteriously turret defense
systems throughout the galaxy started attacking you.
Force your
way through 40 stages of galactic defense systems using your special
time-slowdown ability (touch the screen to activate) or using 7
different powerups to help you get through the hardest of defenses.
Over
40 levels, with 5 challenge missions. You can save replays of epic
moments you went through to show your friends. Gain medals by finishing
stages without special abilities.
Control
is accelerometer based, and you can custom calibrate it. So you can
play it vertically, while laying down in the couch, or whatever
position you want.
And the hits just keep on coming! The latest in the "what a steal" department comes to us by way of F.A.S.T. or "Fleet Air Superiority Training". F.A.S.T. is an air combat game with a heavy emphasis on production, the game looks and plays brilliantly. I'm always extremely skeptical of games that use the accelerometer as your main control input but the guys at SGN were able to ensure a smooth control method using tilt control. The game debuted at $9.99 and has slowly but surely been dropping in price ever since. There's no telling just how long they'll keep it at 99¢ so you're better off picking it up sooner than later.
Hey guys, just a quick heads up. A game I've been following for a while now, Cornhole All-Stars, has been released on the App Store at the introductory price of 99¢. While I've never heard of bean bag toss being referred to as a game of 'cornhole' I'm willing to overlook the regional faux pas and give it a go. Just look at the artwork, too nice to pass up! The presentation appears to be top notch and early iTunes reviews are extremely positive. Games like Backflip Studios Paper Toss have proven to be insanely popular, will Cornhole All-Stars rise the ranks and become the aim and toss game of choice? We'll see!
Bet you can't guess which one the updated version is! What's that, the top one? Well, well, you're sharper than you look. You might be smart, but do you have what it takes to...head west?
The absolutely gorgeous iPhone Oregon Trail remake ($4.99) by Gameloft has gotten the demo treatment. Now you can see what it's like to suffer and ultimately die from severe diarrhea, by way of our friend dysentary, without having to actually pay for it first. It's the best of both worlds! Run off you little scamps, have at it.
