G4 has got the extremely vague "deets" from Namco Bandai that Pacman Championship Edition will be coming to the App Store later on this year. "Later this year" in console gaming is no big deal, but in App Store talk that might as well be an eternity. No word yet on how different it will be from the highly acclaimed Xbox Live Arcade version or how you'll control the game. If you've spent any amount of time with Championship Edition before you'll know there's plenty to be excited about. If you haven't gotten your mittens on it before let me tell you; Uhh, there's plenty to be excited about. This is going to be a great addition to the App Store, can't wait.

Oh Fuji Printing Co. Ltd, you're quite the jokesters! You got us Americans pretty good with your release of Pencil Baseball. Not a whole lot to report on this one. I saw Pencil Baseball stroll into the App Store the other day and I had to do a double take. The game is in Japanese...yes, the whole ting. Not sure why the developer would release a game in the US that most people wouldn't be able to read or if it was a mistake. Perhaps the new intern accidentally submitted it to the US App Store instead of the Japanese one. Takashi, you fool! The only saving grace for this one is it's price point, it's free. Even then it's not worth checking out and the iTunes gaming public agrees, all eight of them:

Beautiful, isn't it? We've got App Cakes, the recently launched app cake blog, to thank for this one. I reckon it's just a matter of time before this thing spreads like wild fire and before you know it we'll be seeing our favorite iPhone games in baked goods form. It wasn't long ago we saw some homemade Rolando plushies, I give it two weeks until we see a tasty, cakier version of ngmoco's star studded cast.
Hit the jump to check out a few more app inspired baking goodness...

I'm loving these cross promotional appearances indie developers are doing with each others franchises! It was just last week we found out that Enviro-Bear from Enviro-Bear 2010 fame was going to make an appearance in a future update of Minigore. NOW we find out Minigore is getting some love with John Gore making an appearance in an update of Illusion Labs Sway ($4.99). Love it! Keep 'em coming, boys.

Taito has been updating their Facebook fan page like a bunch of maniacs. One of the updates? The image above...hmm...what could it mean?! While the image above is a pretty blatent confirmation, along with this image, their update today solves the mystery:
